Viewer Gallery of Velodrome inaugurated at GMDU by Cabinet Minister

Amritsar, July 30 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Minister of Punjab Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer Cabinet inaugurated newly constructed spectator gallery of International Level Velodrome in the sports complex of the Guru Nanak Dev University here today constructed with the cost of Rs. 71 Lakhs. Prof. Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu Vice Chancellor, Prof. S.S Behl Dean Academic Affairs, Dr. Hardeep Singh OSD to VC, Dr. Karanjit Singh Kahlon Registrar, Dr. Sukhdev Singh, Director Sports, Dr. Kanwar Mandeep Singh and a large number of local dignitaries and university fraternity were also present.
                After inaugurationGurmeet Singh Meet Hayer congratulated the University fraternity and appreciated the efforts of Prof. Sandhu for his broad vision. He also assured all possible help for the smooth conduct of constructive activities of the university. He also expressed his happiness over the green & clean campus environment and appreciated the All India ranking, research, sports, culture & other achievements of the university. He also congratulated Prof. Sandhu for the excellent performance and achievements of the university.
                          Minister also announced 20 residential seats for outstanding selected Cyclist under Sports Department. In this food, accommodation and cycling equipments will be provided to the cyclists by the university under PIS Centre (Punjab Institute of Sports).
                    On reaching campus Minister of Higher Education, Punjab was warmly received by Prof. Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu. He apprised the Minister and others with the achievements of the University and assured him more achievements in future with the support of Govt. and university fraternity. He said that at present 6 cyclists of the university are representing India in Common Wealth Games going on in Birmingham UK.
