Bhai Vir Singh Festival of Flowers, Plants and Rangoli concludes

Amritsar, December 16 (Punjab Post  Bureau) – With the message of love nature and protecting the environment, Bhai Vir Singh Festival of Flowers, Plants and Rangoli was concluded here today in Guru Nanak University. This festival was dedicated to the 150th birth Anniversary of Bhai Vir Singh.

Today, Prof. Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice Chancellor presided over the prize distribution function and gave away prizes to the winners. While congratulating the winners and others, he said that today in the era of technology and machines all around, we need a break to associate ourselves with environment and beauty of nature. He said that these types of festivals create awareness among youth to feel the beauty of nature closely. He said that flowers not only attracts youth towards nature but also encourage them to love and protect nature.

Dr. J.S. Bilga Consultant Horticulture said that in the competitions, B.B.K D.A.V. College Amritsar got the first overall position while Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar stood second and Khalsa College for Women Amritsar remained third.

Incharge of the Festival Gurwinder Singh, Landscape Officer and Dr. Sunaina, Assistant Professor, Agriculture Department and other staff members were present on this occasion.
