Amritsar Dec. 16 (Punjab Post Bureau) – DAV Public School, Lawrence Road today celebrated Vijay Diwas to commemorate India’s victory over Pakistan in the Indo – Pak war in 1971. The day is observed all over India to pay tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country. A special morning assembly was conducted by the students on this occasion. The students recited self – composed poems and sang patriotic songs to salute the brave hearts who fought for the nation. Realising their supreme dedication, devotion and love for the country, the students took a pledge to safe – guard the country from external as well as internal attacks and also from evils like corruption , crime ,poverty etc. Regional Director Amritsar Zone Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra Principal BBK DAV College for Women, Lawrence Road and the Manager of the school Dr.K. N Kaul OSD DAV University , Jalandhar said that the students must respect and honour the sacrifices laid by the soldiers and pledge to work for the country’s progress. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school said that we should always remember that the foundation of our freedom was laid on the sacrifices of many great leaders, freedom fighters and brave hearts and we owe a lot to them. She advised the students to work hard to realise the dream of these soldiers.
