Amritsar, April 7 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Taking another academic leap, Khalsa college of Engineering and
Technology (KCET), Amritsar successfully established the Nodal Centre of Virtual Labs in association with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee under the Ministry of Education, under the National Mission of Education Scheme through ICT. Dr. Manju Bala (Director) officially inaugurated the Nodal Centre of Virtual Labs and said that this will definitely help students to learn complex concepts in easier way. She said that under this collaboration with IIT Roorkee, students of the college will be the part of Internship facility provided by IIT Roorkee during which the students will be trained to develop the virtual labs. She said that this collaboration will also enhance the placement scenario of the institute.
She informed that soon Khalsa College of Engineering and Technology will be declared as Regional Nodal Centre for Virtual Labs which will be the first of its kind in the state of Punjab. Also during the establishment of the nodal center a Two Days Workshop for Faculty and students on how to use and perform Virtual Lab Experiments. Resource Persons of the workshop were Dr. Amit Kumar Sharma and Er. Jasbir Singh (Project Associated, IIT Roorkee). Dr. Bala presented a token of gratitude to both the resource persons. Also, she appreciated the coordinator of the event, Er. Maneet Kaur (Deputy Dean, Training and Placement) and her team for putting in the efforts for the establishment of Nodal Centre.
Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina (Hon. Sec. Khalsa College Charitable Society) lauded the efforts of director, Dr. Manu Bala and her team for the collaboration with IIT Roorkee. He said that establishment of nodal centre for virtual labs will definitely help students to learn uin flexible ways and prepare them adequately.
