Project will cost 1 crore 48 lakh rupees
Amritsar, July 16 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Mann, all the ministers and MLAs are visiting the villages of their respective constituencies to ensure cleaning of the drains so that the water can be drained properly and the people do not face any kind of difficulty due to rains.
Public Works and Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO expressed these views after visiting the rain-affected villages. Interacting with the media while visiting Narayangarh village, He said that the culvert built on the Narayangarh drain will be rebuilt by the Public Works Department as it has become very old. He said that the width of this culvert will be increased from 11 feet to 23 feet and tenders have been floated for the construction of this culvert. He said that 1 crore 48 lakh rupees will be spent on the construction of this culvert.
The Public Works Minister said that the department has also been cleaning this drain which was not cleaned for the last several decades. He said that with the construction of this new bridge and cleaning of the drain, the residents of the village will not face any drainage regarding problem.
