Amritsar, October 11 (Punjqb Post Bureau) – A warm welcome ceremony held at Saroop Rani Government College in Amritsar to honor the 50 Women (C.R.P.F) riders on their motorcycle expedition aimed at promoting women empowerment and national integrity. The event was graced by the presence of the college’s Principal, Prof. Dr. Daljit Kaur, who extended her warm greetings to the CRPF team.
The felicitation ceremony commenced with a delightful floral welcome for the esteemed guests Shri Brij Lal Commandant of the 245th Battalion CRPF , Mr Rajinder Prasad, Assistant Commandant , Mr Varun Kumar PCS, MS Akanksha, District Youth officer, Ms Kuldeep Kaur, District Programme officer and Madam Neelam Mahey, Deputy Director DBEE followed by the presentation of plants as tokens of appreciation. Principal Prof (Dr.) Daljit Kaur delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in empowering women and fostering national unity.
The event was further elevated by an electrifying band display, where the band members showcased their remarkable talents. In recognition of their outstanding performance, the band was honored with medals.
The atmosphere resonated with the melodious rendition of songs, followed by an engaging mimicry performance that left the audience entertained. The CO (Commanding Officer) and DC (Deputy Commissioner) delivered insightful speeches, highlighting the expedition’s significance and the interactions planned en route. The event also included a dynamic interaction session between the women riders and the students, fostering a sense of camaraderie and knowledge exchange.
This remarkable motorcycle expedition comprises 25 motorcycles, 50 riders, and 21 talented band mahilas. They embarked on their journey from Lal Chowk, Srinagar, on October 3, 2023, and arrived in Amritsar on the evening of October 8, 2023. Their journey further extends to Ektanagar, Gujarat, where they will celebrate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on October 31, 2023.
The Programme concluded with the vote of thanks and recital of National Anthem. The event was grand success.
