Amritsar, January 7 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Deputy Commissioner Amritsar cum Commissioner Municipal
Corporation Amritsar Ganshayam Thori said in a press release that Municipal Corporation is going to hand over two Organic Waste Convertors to Golden Temple & Durgiana Mandir for flower & Wet Waste Composite at the cost of Rs.50 lacs. He said that for the purpose of processing of flowers and wet waste generated in religious places (Golden Temple and Durgiana Temple), the PMIDC has sanctioned the funds of an amount of Rs.50 lacs for the purpose of purchasing two organic waste convertor machines. These organic waste convertors have been purchased by adopting the standard procedure and the organic waste convertor machines will now be handed over to both the authorities of religious places i.e., Golden Temple & Durgiana Temple. The said machines have been supplied by M/s landmark Signboards Pvt. Ltd. The capacity of these convertor machines is to process 900 Kg to 1200 Kg wet waste on daily basis and are capable to shred 900 kg to 1200 kg wet waste. The other treatable items are food waste, fruits, fruit peels, vegetables and vegetable peels, wet leaves and small twigs and other decomposable materials.
