Ms. Sonia Mehmi of BBK DAV won Gold Medal in 2nd Indo Nepal Championship Badminton

Amritsar, May 21 (Punjab Post Bureau) –  Ms. Sonia Mehmi an international Badminton player won Gold Medal in 2^nd Indo Nepal Championship held at Kathmandu (Nepal) from 22^nd to 27^th April 2015. She also honoured with Certificate and Trophy. Total 10 countries and 4 sub-continental teams participated in this championship. Only two palyers from Punjab i.e. Sonia Mehmi from BBK DAV College for Women & other Mandeep Kaur from Chandigarh University represented India  in this championship. This is a great achievement for our country and this institution. She gave splendid show by beating Nepal, Bhutan, Colombo, Bangladesh and Nigeria in single matches. She won the final match with Nigeria team and her score was 21-20 in Ist game and 2^nd by 21-18. She also won gold medal in  Sr. National held at Sirsa in Haryana from 9^th to 12^th March, 2015.
