Majithia expresses regret over faux-pas of the Indian tri-colour

Orders strict disciplinary action against the officials concerned

PPN1508201514Amritsar, 15 August (Punjab Post Bureau) – Punjab Revenue and Information Minister Bikram Singh Majithia today expressed regret over the Faux-Pas of the Indian tri-colour being unfurled the wrong side up during the 69th Independence Day Celebration. Majithia who unfurled the national flag which was already folded with the flag post, by the officials concerned, had to face an anxious moment when he realized that the flag he had unfurled was wrong side up at the official function organized at Gandhi Ground here today. Even though the mistake was immediately rectified, Majithia said that he had never experienced such an unforeseen lapse. Majithia said,” I have the highest respect and regards for the Indian national flag”, and have had the honour of attending many functions including Independence  and Republic Day and  have never witnessed such a lapse before. He has directed the Deputy Commissioner and the Police Commissioner Amritsar to take strict disciplinary action against the officials concerned.He said that  the administration should be more cautious in future while organizing such an important function.
