Amritsar, September 4 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Films are made not only for entertainment but sometimes are also made to revisit the lost pages of the history so that the new generation comes to know what their ancestors have done for the society and the country. Punjabi film ‘The Mastermind Jinda and Sukha’ is all set to be released on 11th September and the film’s team is out for promotions. The story dates back to the 1980s when Bhai Harjinder Singh Jinda and Bhai Sukhdev Singh Sukha were given the capital punishment for assassinating the then army general Arun Kumar Sridhar Vaidya when an attack happened at Golden Temple (Amritsar) under Operation Blue Star.
It is a Singh Brothers Production and has been directed by Sukhjinder Singh. It has been produced by Sukhchain Singh, Jaswinder Kumar and Ranjit Singh. The film stars Nav Bajwa, Sonpreet Jawanda, Sukhjinder Shera, Amritpal Singh, Sunita Dhir, Isha Sharma and Satwant Kaur. The story is based on the letters exchanged between Bhai Jinda and Bhai Sukha which are now in the form of a book.
Nav Bajwa told that he is playing the character of Jinda and is influenced by his contribution to Sikhism. The film seems to be making a difference in the league of back to back comedy films. Director and producer of the film tell that their decision of making such film was a conscious one seeing the immature approach of Punjabi cinema.
