RBI Conducts Amritsar Round of RBI Quiz at Art Galary

Amritsar, Oct. 9 (Punjab Post Bureau) –   An Inter School Quiz to Promote Financial Literacy As part of its continuing initiatives for promoting financial awareness and education, Reserve Bank of India, Chandigarh conducted RBIQ, an Inter-School Quiz. The Amritsar round of RBIQ was held at Sardar Dharam Singh Engineer Auditorium of The Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Company Bagh. The main objective of the quiz was to create awareness and interest among young student community about banking and finance, the history and role of RBI, other banking / financial institutions, economics, current affairs, personalities and events that have contributed to the growth and progress of India over the years. In Amritsar round, 97 teams of students from class IX to XII from 51 schools in and around Amritsar participated in the event. The quiz was conducted in a lively environment by the quiz master Mr. Pradeep Atmaram from Grey caps, Bengaluru. PPN0910201525After the written pre-quarter final round, top six teams qualified for the quarter final round on the stage. The Quarter Finals was held in a very interesting manner wherein there were six rounds viz. World of Finance, India Inspired, Bankers’ Bank, Money Matters, Lateral Thinking and Clue Boxes. After the nail biting quarter-finals, the team from DAV Public School, Amritsar comprising Master Mehul Malhotra and Master Nimish Narang emerged victorious. The teams from Shri Ram Ashram Public School and Spring Dale Senior School finished first and second Runners Up, respectively. The Winners, Runner – up and other participants of the Quarter Final were handed over prizes by Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, Chandigarh and Prof. Dr. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Registrar, GNDU, who was the Chief Guest for the event.

The Winning team will now compete in the Zonal Finals to be held in New Delhi in the first week of November 2015 and winners of Zonal rounds will compete in the National Semi Finals which will be held in Mumbai. The national winners will be given attractive prizes at the hands of the Governor, Reserve Bank of India and the event would be telecast on the National Television Channel.
