Rich Tributes paid to Swami Virjanand and Mahatma Anand Swami

Amritsar, Oct, 24 (Punjab Post Bureau)- The morning assembly of DAV  Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar today echoed with holy hymns and Shaloks as the students paid obeisance to the leanred scholars and philosophers, Swami Virjanand ji and Mahatma Anand Swami ji . The day  was a pious day as the students paid rich tributes to Swami Virjanand ji on his birth anniversary and remembered Mahatma Anand Swami ji with reverence on his death anniversary. On this occasion a Havan was performed in the school premises for peace and contentment . A special assembly was prepared  by the students who enlightened the students about the inspirational life of Mahatma Anand Swami ji . He gave up this materialistic world and became a saint by joining Ram Krishan Mission very early in his life. He was a strong pillar of Arya Samaj and DAV movement in the country. He would always be remembered as a leader, philosopher, editor and architect of the DAV movement . He devoted his life to Ved Prachar and upliftment of the society.

The great and pious saint, Swami Virjanand, the celebrated teacher of Swami Dayanand ji , influenced his life to the extent that it is believed that there would have been no Dayanand without Virjanand and without Dayanand there would have been no revival of Vedic Dharma. It was Swami Virjanand who helped Dayanand ji realise the true meaning of life and understand the hidden and inner meaning of Vedas. He asked him to spread  the true knowledge of the Vedas, dispel the darkness of ignorance, throw light on the true meaning of truth and liberate India.

In the end , the students took a pledge to follow the path shown by them and dispel ignorance and evils from the society. Regional Director Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra Principal  BBK DAV College for Women, Lawrence Road, Amritsar and the Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar Principal  DAV College , Hathi Gate , Amritsar advised the students to be rooted to their culture and heritage. They asked them to imbibe true Aryan values and lead  a fruitful life.

Dr.Neera Sharma Principal of the school while addressing the students said that we must pay reverence to the great saints who have shown us the path of enlightenment. We all must tread the path of sacrifice and honesty and pledge to become shresth humans.
