Ganit week celebrated in Sri Guru Harkrishan Sen.Sec school G.T Road

Amritsar, Dec. 21 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Athematics has always been one of the most intriguing and fascinating fields ever since its existence. However, the knowledge of maths is worthwhile when quizzed and applied in practical observation. To sensitize the students about the great mathematicians and their theories like Ramanujan, Aryabhatta and others, a GANIT WEEK was celebrated in the school from Dec 16-Dec 22, 2015.  Various events were organized  during the week in which students of classes 6^th to 12^th participated enthusiastically. On 17^th Dec an activity on ‘Making of Tangrams’ was organized which was very resourceful for the students. On 18^th Dec–‘Maths Quiz’ was organized in which an array of questions were put forth for the participants.  They not only exhibited their knowledge but also learnt much more. On 19^th Dec, An event on solving maths puzzles was organized. On 21^st Dec – Students of class +1 spoke on the life and achievements of Ramanujan and Aryabhatta.  They also spoke on the theory of Pie and its use in maths.  Principal/Director Dr. Dharam Veer Singh said that such activities are an integral part of the school curriculum and the students learn a lot from them. The host of activities organized during the week proved to be very beneficial for the students.
