Lohri celebrated by Rotary Club, Amritsar Central at Nari Nikatan

Amritsar, Jan 14 (Punjab Post Bureau)- The Lohri Ceremony was celebrated by Rotary Club, Amritsar Central in the Nari Nikatan premises. Ms. Girish, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority was the Chief Guest of Lohri Ceremony. There were 14 mentally retarded children were present. Sh. Ravinder Pathania, President of the Club and Sh. Rakesh Kapoor, Secretary of the Club were also present there. The members of the Rotary Club, Amritsar namely Sh. Naresh Moudgill, Dr. Sareen Chauhan, Sh. K.P.S. Batra, Dr. Naresh Grover, Sh. Naresh Khanna and Sh. Kewal Krishan Arora were also present there. Sweets, Fruits and Biscuits were distributed to all the Children and Staff members. Ms. Girish, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Amritsar was also delivered a lecture in this Lohri Ceremony program. They were made about the importance of Legal Aid Schemes. They were made aware about the services offered by Punjab Legal Services Authority, Chandigarh including free legal aid, system of Lok Adalat, Para Legal Volunteer Services, Legal Aid Clinic and Legal Literacy Clubs in schools and colleges. They were specially told that a woman is entitled to free legal aid irrespective of her income. They were made aware about the rights of children and women, rights under Domestic Violence Act, Special rights of women under the Constitution of India, rights of parents and senior citizens under the Welfare and Maintenance of Senior citizens and Parents Act 2007.
