SAD Fields Ravinder Singh Brahmpura as its Candidate for Khadoor Sahib by-poll

PPN2001201611Amritsar, January 20 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Shiromani Akali Dal today announced S. Ravinder Singh Brahmpura as party candidate for Khadoor Sahib Assembly by-poll in district Tarn Taran with party President S. Sukhbir Singh Badal making this announcement here after paying obeisance at Sri Darbar Sahib. Interacting with media persons, S. Badal said the Party had decided to field S. Ravinder Singh Brahmpura, Senior Akali leader and son of Khadoor Sahib Member Parliament S. Ranjit Singh Brahmpura from Khadoor Sahab.  He said the SAD would contest this election on the plank of development and the same would be the poll plank of ruling alliance in the ensuing 2017 polls.   Referring to a query Mr. Badal said the SAD would register a historic victory in this by-poll with a record margin of votes. He said the Congress Party was facing a severe challenge to field a suitable candidate. He said the the massive defeat of Congress Party was inevitable not only in Khadoor Sahib by-poll but also in 2017 assembly elections. He said the electorate of Khadoor Sahib would give a befitting reply to the Congress Party for its anti-Punjab stance.  Answering a media query claiming the of Aam Aadmi Party was gaining ground in Punjab, the SAD president said AAP posed no threat to Shiromani Akali Dal since SAD had an organized cadre. When asked about the merger of PPP in Congress Party by Manpreet Singh Badal, S. Badal slammed the former for backstabbing the people of Punjab and Punjabis. He said that this development has evident enough to gauge the level of desperation of Manpreet Badal. He said that Badal clan always remained on forefront against the atrocities inflicted upon Sikhs by Congress Party. He said that Manpreet had joined hands with Congress in frustration as he had become politically irrelevant.  He said Congress and AAP would face the same fate as PPP in 2012 polls in ensuing assembly elections. Meanwhile S. Badal also took stock of under construction façade at Golden Temple and asked the authorities concerned to accomplish the project before the set deadline. Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included S. Manjinder Singh Sirsa, General Secretary of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, S. Navdeep Singh Goldy etc.
