Amritsar Postal Division Celebrates International Women’s Day

PPN0803201606Amritsar, Mar. 8 (Punjab Post Bureau)- For promoting various schemes launched by the Government of India, particularly those schemes which are highly beneficial for girl-child and to recognize the services of women in Govt. sector, the Amritsar Postal Division has organized a Worshop-cum-meeting on the eve of International Women’s Day, under the aegis of Sh. Jethmal Jingar, SSPOs, Amritsar Division, Amritsar, in the premises of Amritsar GPO. The said meeting was first of its kind as both the Central and State Govt. authorities have gathered to promote common schemes. The motive of this meeting was to promote the “JAN SURAKSHA SCHEMES” such as Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Beema Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Beema Yojna, Sukanya Smridhi Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, PLI and other Small Saving Schemes. Smt. Amandeep Kaur, PCS, Asstt. Commisioner (Genl.) was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Smt. Gurinder Kaur Grewal, Programme Officer (ICDS) and Sh. Gulshan Kumar, Sr. DSO were Guests of Honour at the event. The women staff of Amritsar Postal Division and Child Development Project Officers of Amritsar District participated in the workshop-cum-meeting enthusiastically. The staff was apprised of various investment-cum-saving schemes and Insurance Schemes launched by the Depratment of Posts. The women officials who have shown exemplary devotion towards their duty were awarded by the Chief Guest, Smt. Amandeep Kaur, PCS. Sh. Vikas Sharma, ASP (HQ), Amritsar, Sh. G.C. Goyal, Sr. Postmaster, Amritsar HO, Sh. Deepak Sharma, Dy. Postmaster, Amritsar and all Inspectors/ASPs were also present on the occasion.

The Chief Guest applauded the efforts put in by Amritsar Postal Division for generating awareness among public about various schemes. She motivated the staff to motivate the people to avail the benefits offered by the Department of Posts under Sukanya Samrishi Yojna, PLI and other Small Saving Schemes as money collected under these schemes is being utilized for the development of the State. She also urged the women employees to invest in their children, educationally and morally, to make the society a more liveable place. CDPOs namely, Ms. Hardeep Kaur, Ms. Kuldeep Kaur, Ms. Meena Kumari, Ms. Sneh Lata, Ms. Tanuja Goyal besides Postal employees, namely, Ms. Sudha Nayyar, Ms. Kirandeep Kaur, Ms. Amandeep Kaur and Ms. Gurjit Kaur, were awarded on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
