R.K Jha and Dr. Gurdas Sekhon demanded a strong action against the students who attacked Prof. Surinder Kumar

Amritsar, May 17 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Today a meeting of Distt. Council Amritsar, a unit of PCCTU was held in  DAV College to discuss the episode happened at Jalandhar with Prof. Surinder Kumar of DAV College Amritsar who is on duty at Lyalpur Khalsa College Jalandhar as Centre Supdt. in Examination  of the Guru nanak Dev University Amritsar. Distt. President Dr. Malkit Singh told that some students of the college attacked on Prof. Surinder Kumar when he was on the way to his home after performing his exam duty yesterday on dated 16/5/2016 and beaten him on the road who is is under medical treatment. The reason to Assault the teacher is not allowing to copy during examination. The distt. Council Amritsar strongly condemn this act of students and demands a strong action against the culprits. Prof. R.K Jha President Local Unit and Dr. Gurdas Singh Sekhon Secretary local unit DAV College Amritsar demanded a strong action against the students from Guru Nanak Dev University and Police. The complaint has already submitted to the concerned police station at Jalandhar but now nobody has been arrested till now. They asked the GND University authority to take serious concern of this matter and press upon the police to arrest the culprits as soon as possible otherwise Punjab and Chandigarh College Teachers union will struggle for the matter. Prof. Sekhon added that if no action has been taken against the students in a due course of time then teacher may boycott the exam duties.  The meeting was attended by  Dr. B.B Yadav, Prof Munish Gupta, Prof G.S Sidhu Dr. Darshandeep Arora, Sanjeev Dutta Dr. Laxmi Kant, Prof. P.S Randhawa, Madam Dr. Rajni Bala Vice president of the local unit were president over there.
