Hiking trekking camp for girls organized at GNDU Holiday Home, Dalhousie

Amritsar, June 27 (Punjab Post Bureau)- The Guru Nanak Dev University has organized a Hiking Trekking Camp of girls at the Students Holiday Home, Dalhousie. As many as 125 students from 12 affiliated colleges participated in this camp. This camp was hosted by the Department of Youth Welfare of the University.

Prof. N.S. Tung, Dean, Academic Affairs of the University was the chief guest at the valedictory function of this camp. Dr. Suninder Kaur Tung was the guest of honor and Dr. Gursharan Kaur, Associate Professor was the special guest of this occasion. Dr. Jagjit Kaur welcomed the guests and gave the details about the activities of the Department.

While blessing the campers, Prof. Tung said that these camps are very important in student life, so students should participate this type of activities to excell in their lives.

Ms. Loveleen Kaur of PSMSD College for Women, Jalandhar was adjudged the Best Camper while Ms. Ankita of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar stood second best Camper and Ms. Neetu of GNDUC Verka was remained third. The team of Khalsa College of Education Amritsar was adjudged as first best disciplined teams while team of SBDSM Khalsa College Domeli was second best disciplined team and SSM College Dinanagar was remained third.

The campers visited Panchpula, Kala Top, Dain Kund, Khajjiar and Dalhousie during this camp. Events like extempore, debate, folk song, poetry recitation and dance were also organized on this occasion. Prof. Tung and others also gave away the prizes to the winners.
