Amritsar, June 28 (Punjab Post Bureau)- The Guru Nanak Dev University has organized a Youth Leadership Camp of boys at the Students Holiday Home, Dalhousie. As many as 105 students from 13 affiliated colleges participated in this camp. This camp was hosted by the Department of Youth Welfare of the University. Prof. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Registrar of the University was the chief guest at the valedictory function. S. Harjit Singh, President, SPSK Khalsa College, Begowal was the guest of honor. Sh. Jagdish Sachdeva and Dr. Narinder Kumar Sharma were the resource person, who shared their experience with campers. Dr. Jagjit Kaur welcomed the guests and gave the details about the activities during the camp. While advising the students, Prof. Dhillon said that to get rid of hectic life schedule, students should participate in these types of camps. He said that with these camps, they learn the sense of discipline and brotherhood. He said that students also enjoy by living close to nature. Mr. Narinder Kalia of APJ College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar was adjudged the Best Camper while Mr. Gurchetan Singh of DAV College, Jalandhar stood second best Camper and Mr. Ishan Dogra of Khalsa College, Jalandhar was remained third. The team of Mata Gujri Khalsa College, Kartarpur was adjudged as first best disciplined teams while team of GNDU College, Naroot Jaimal Singh was second best disciplined team and SL Bawa DAV College, Batala was remained third.
During the camp, students visited Panchpula, Kala Top, Dain Kund, Khajjiar and Dalhousie and participated in the events of extempore, debate, folk song, poetry recitation and dance. Prof. Dhillon and others guests also gave away the prizes to the winners of these events.
