BBK DAV College organizes Technozia 2016 : A Technology Festival

Amritsar, Sept. 8 (Punjab Post Bureau) – PG Department of Computer Science and Applications of BBK DAV College for Women organized Technozia 2016: A Technology Festival in the college premises. The festival aimed to provide a platform to the participants for showcasing their technical expertise. Dr. R.K. Mahajan, Dean, College Development Council, GNDU, Amritsar was the Chief Guest for the Inaugural Ceremony. While addressing the gathering, he congratulated Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia on making this college one of the best colleges of the region in academics as well as sports. He encouraged the participants to perform enthusiastically in all the competitions.

While welcoming the guests, Dr. Walia appreciated the efforts of PG Department of Computer Science and Applications for organizing the festival. Emphasizing the importance of human bonding and relations, she motivated the students to spare time for feeling the warmth of relationship and not to let technology eat into the quality time meant for their parents. Various competitions like IT Extempore, Paper Presentation, Brain Buster, Logic Whirlpool, Net Savvy, Web Mania, Tech GD, IT Drama and IT Cartooning were organized during the festival. Around 200 students from various colleges of Punjab participated to make this event a great success. BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar and HMV College, Jalandhar became overall champions in the festival.

Dr. Gurwinder Singh, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, GNDU, Amritsar, was the Chief Guest for the Valedictory Session. While addressing the session, he said that the festival provided an exposure to the students to become better managers. He added that we should not let technology overpower our lives. Proximity to nature is the best way to learn. Ms. Kiran Gupta, Head, PG Department of Computer Science and Applications said that the festival was helpful in improving the knowledge sharing skills of students. Mr. J.K. Luthra, Honorary treasurer, DAV CMC, New Delhi, S. Mohinderjit singh, Member, LMC, Mr. Manoj Puri, Co-Ordinator, of the festiva, Mrs. Rajni Mehra, Finance Secretary of the festival, along with other faculty members, were also present on the occasion.
