BBK DAV Wins GNDU Inter-College Baseball Championship

Amritsar, Nov 30 (Punajb Post Bureau) – Baseball team of BBK DAV College for Women won GNDU Inter-College Baseball Championship held at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. College team gave a splendid show by defeating GNDU Campus, HMV College, Jalandhar and KMV College, Jalandhar. Seven players of the college Ms. Ggandeep Kaur, Harpreet Kaur, Mandeep Kaur, Lakhbir Kaur, Aarti, Priya and Nikita have been selected for All India Intervarsity Championship which is going to be held at Chandigarh. Four players Ms. Gagandeep, Harpreet Kaur, Mandeep Kaur and Simrandeep Kaur also won first position in Sr. National championship. Members of the team were Ms. Harpreet Kaur, Mandeep Kaur, Gagandeep Kaur, Priya Devi, Lakhbir Kaur, Simrandeep Kaur, Neha, Simranjit Kaur, Jasdeep Kaur, Asha, Kawaljit Kaur, Akwinder Kaur, Aarit, Nikita, Tania and Harjit Kaur.

Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia congratulated the young achievers and motivated them to maintain their performance in future as well. She added that the college players have always made a mark in various championships and, as a result, BBK DAV is a forerunner in sports. Sh. Sudershan Kapoor, Chariman, Local Managing Committee, Prof. Satinder Singh, Former Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar  & Mrs. Sweety Bala, Head, Department of Physical Education & Baseball Coach Rupinder Kaur, along with other faculty members, felicitated the players on their achievements.
