Two day National Seminar on “Recent Trends in Plants and Environmental Sciences” inaugurated

Amritsar, February 9 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Department of Botanical & Environmental Sciences, Guru Nanak Dev University is organizing a two day National Seminar on “Recent Trends in Plants and Environmental Sciences” (NSPES 2017) in Guru Nanak Bhawan Auditorium on Campus in which over 200 academicians, research scholars and students from various parts of Punjab and India are participating.PPN0902201713

Dr. Sunil Kaul, Senior Scientist, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) Japan delivered the keynote address in the Inauguration Ceremony. The inaugural function was presided over by the noted scientist Prof. Satish C. Bhatla from Department of Botany, Delhi University. Prof. Satwinderjeet Kaur (Head) welcomed the guest and Prof. Saroj Arora informed the audience about the Seminar. Prof. Avinash Nagpal introduced the keynote speaker to the audience and Prof. Renu Bhardwaj extended Vote of thanks. Faculty members from the various departments of the University attended the function. Prof. A.K. Thukral, Prof. G.S. Virk, Dr. Amarjit Singh Soodan, Dr. Adarsh Pal Vig, Dr. M.S. Bhatti, Dr. Rajinder Kaur, Dr. Jatinder Kaur, Dr. Kirandeep Dhami, Er. Bhupinder Pal Singh, Er. Jyoyi Kalyani actively participated in this event. This Scientific meet focuses on various thrust areas of research: Biodiversity; Genetic Toxicology, Antimutagenesis and cancer Chemoprevention; Biotic/Abiotic Stress Management;Remedial Technologies for Sustainable Environmental Management; Air/Soil/Water Pollution Monitoring and Management; that would provide a platform for healthy scientific deliberations and interactions among various scientists, researchers and students.
