Young Chef India Schools – 2017 held at DAV Public School

Amritsar, March 22 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Cooking is the new fad among students and DAV Public School Lawrence Road taking note of this passion among students organised Young Chef India Schools – 2017 at its premises to encourage students to pursue their passion. The event was conducted by International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) Delhi. 10 students of Std XI from the school participated in this preliminary round and cooked to their hearts content. In the open category they were to present a regional cuisine and a bakery item. The celebrated Chef Ajay a faculty member from IIHM Delhi was the judge to be impressed. Chef Ajay was fascinated by the dedication and professionalism of the students. He appreciated the confidence of the participants and praised them for keeping their cool even under the pressure of the competition. He shared some valuable tips with the participants and asked them to be creative.  He said that all the young chefs gave a tough fight to each other with their smartly plated dishes which made it difficult for him to choose the winner. The winners of this round will compete for the final regional round at IIHM Delhi. Regional Director Punjab Zone – A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Principal DAV College Amritsar praised the initiative of the school to provide the students with a platform to showcase their talent. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Chef Ajay for his valuable time and for guiding the students. Impressed by the presentation of her students, she said that she was proud of them and would like them to polish their skill with the guidance of experts like Chef Ajay and fulfil their dreams with hard work in the field of their choice.
