Sidhu suspends SDO Sewerage Treatment Plant and marks vigilance enquiry of JICA Scheme

Amritsar, April 21 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Member Parliament Gurjeet Singh Aujla, Cabinet Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu, MLA Raj Kumar Verka, MLA Sunil Dutti, DCC Urban president Jugal Kishore Sharma today inspected the sewer lines laying project going on under JICA scheme. Concerned officers from Punjab Water and Sewerage Board and other departments were present during the inspection. Many flaws were found in the sewer laying process and vigilance and third party inspections have been marked by hon’ble minister for Local Government. Later on the team inspected the Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) at Dera Baba Nanak which was completed in 2013 but was still non operational. The maintenance SDO was suspended and an enquiry report has been sought regarding the STP by Cabinet Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu.
