Best Delegate Award for DAV Public School Student

Amritsar, May 3 (Punjab Post Bureau) – PPN0305201708ADAMAS Model United Nations Conference was held at DAV Public School, Ludhiana from 25th April, 2017 to 30th April 2017. The conference was divided into seven committees with different themes and agenda. Ateev Bhandari of Std XII Commerce, of DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar was the chosen one to be a part of this prestigious conference. He was a delegate representing USA in United Nations General Assembly Disarmament and International Security Committee. There were other 125 candidates from all over India in this committee. The members had to debate , share their  views , discuss and deliberate on the theme, ‘Reduction of Global, Military Budgets’ and ‘Establishment of a Nuclear Weapon Free Zone in  the Middle East. The participants were judged on the basis of presentation of their views, authenticity and praticality of the content, oratory skills etc. Ateev Bhandari was chosen as the Best Delegate in UNGA DISEC. He also won the Secretary General’s Best Delegate Award for being the best delegate in the whole conference. He was presented two trophies and a cash prize of Rs 10,000 each for both the awards.

               Regional Director , Punjab Zone – A Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school , Dr. Rajesh  Kumar , Principal DAV College Amritsar congratulated the student  for his brilliant achievement. They said that such platforms shape the overall personality and makes one confident for future endeavors. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school while blessing Ateev said that United Nations Conference is a prestigious portal where students learn to speak up and be involved in the current happenings around the world. She said that she was happy that her students are performing well in all fields under the guidance of the teachers and blessings of the mentors. She further said that this prestigious win will add to Ateev’s profile and help him in his future goals.
