Amritsar, May 27 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The students of DAV Public School Lawrence Road observed martyrdom day of Shri Guru Arjan Dev Ji with great zeal and reverence.
The students, in a special programme, sang holy shabads and recited poems highlighting the great sacrifice and service of the Guru for the sake of people. In an atmosphere of divine mysticism, the students informed the audience about his momentous life. He was the first martyr of the Sikh faith and the fifth of the ten Sikh Gurus, who compiled the first official edition of the Sikh Scripture called Adi Granth , which later expanded into the Guru Granth Sahib. The students prayed to seek blessings of the Guru for a meaningful and prosperous life ahead.
Regional Director Punjab Zone – A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school , Dr. Rajesh Kumar , Principal DAV College Amritsar sent their best wishes to the students on this occasion and advised the students to invoke the blessings of Almighty everyday and lead an upright life. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school while addressing the students on this occasion said that we must all bow our heads with reverence and remember the saintly Guru for his sacrifice and conviction to stand for justice. She further encouraged students to be pious in their thinking and action.
