Amritsar, Oct. 17 (Punjab Post Bureau) – DAV Public School Lawrence Road conducted a special assembly on World Food Day. This day promotes world wide awareness and action for those who suffer from hunger and for the need to ensure food security and nutritious diet for all. Students of the school highlighted different issues for discussion for the global misery of hunger and poverty. They spoke about the importance of eating healthy food and avoiding fast food. They pledged that each and every individual should be committed to eradicate hunger from the society. They also raised the slogan that ‘A Well fed Nation is a happy Nation’.
Regional Director Punjab Zone- A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar appreciated the efforts of the students for observing such days and advised them to have nutritious, healthy diet and avoid wastage of food. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school addressed the students and told them the importance of this day and motivated them that with collective efforts we can eliminate hunger, malnutrition and poverty from our nation. She also stressed that right to food is a basic human right.
