Reunion ‘Andaaz-2017’ organized by DAV College Amritsar Alumni Association

Amritsar, October 29 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The DAV College Amritsar Alumni Association organized a reunion meet ‘Andaaz-2017’ for the old students of the College at Arsh Auditorium on October 29. The alumni meet started with recitation of DAV Gaan.  Approx 200 Alumni of the College attended this meet with Zeal and enthusiasm. Currently, most of them are doing well in Government and Private sectors and some of them are running their own business establishments. This event was organized under guidance of Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar and Prof. Sunil Sachdeva, General Secretary Alumni Association & S.K Sehgal, President, Alumni Association.

Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar extended heartiest welcome to the alumni of the college. While sharing his experience with old students, he said that the main motive behind organizing this reunion was to develop an instant multiple and multi-level bridge between large number of alumni of different batches and present college students. He also talked about triumphant Journey of various principal of DAV College that how they performed their duty sincerely and dedicatedly. He also focused on the fact that the College has adopted all the required changes in its academic curriculum and College Structure in its successful journey of 62 years.

            While speaking on occasion, Dr. Vishwa Bandhu Vice-Principal and alumni of the college said that its nostalgic feeling to think about those previous days of our college life and remembering back those days makes our current life so refreshing and energetic. He also shared his experiences with other alumni of the college.

            Dr. Sunil Sachdeva, General Secretary of Alumni Association and Head department of English told about the main motive of this reunion, he said that such events are quite helpful in revitalizing those golden days through energy and experience of outstanding alumni. As such experienced persons would surely works as time tested and sincere advisor for current students.

            Recalling the past days, Mr. Sunil Kumar, PCS and alumni of 1989 batch while sharing his feeling said that it is great moment for us to visit the same place after such a long and He also added that it is blessing for them that they are currently the part of DAV Institution. Dr Ravi Saini, one of the prominent Skin Specialist and Alumni of batch 1974 while reviving his college days said that such events organized by college helps in getting information to alumni to know how institution is growing both in quality as well as the number of students. It really helps us to revive those unforgettable days.

            Vijay Sharma, General Manager Sales Coca Cola Company and alumni of 1979 batch said its quite wonderful and learning experience to be the part of this reunion meet. He added that DAV College has given me platform to become what I am today.

            During the meet, various cultural items were also performed by college students and alumni of college. All the old students were overwhelmed with the reverence they received during the meet. S.K SehgaL & Dr. B.B Yadav Secretary Staff Council presented a vote of thanks to all the alumni for sparing their valuable time and making this re-union a success. Dr. Rajni Khanna Administrator, Dr. Ashma Walia, Registrar and Heads of various departments and the alumni of the College were also present during this meet.
