Amritsar, October 29 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Zonal Youth Festival of ‘C’ Zone of Guru Nanak Dev University
concluded here today in the Dasmesh Auditorium of the University. The affiliated colleges of Jalandhar district participated in this festival. Around 780 Student-artists from 18 Colleges participated in 34 items of Music, Theatre, Dance, Literary & Fine Arts.
Randhir Singh Uppal, AIG, Counter Intelligence Jails, Gurdaspur presided over the valedictory function. Amandeep Singh, President, Young Bhangra Club, Calgary was guest of honor on this occasion. Dr. Jagjit Kaur, Director, Youth Welfare welcomed the chief guest and other guests. She gave details of the achievements of Youth Welfare Department.
In overall result of ‘A‘ Division Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar become Overall Champion, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar Runners Up and DAV College, Jalandhar stood Third. In ‘B’ Division Mata Gujri Khalsa College, Kartarpur was Overall Champion MGSM Janta College, Kartarpur Runners Up and Trinity College, Jalandhar got Third position
While congratulating the students artists S. Randhir Singh said that Guru Nanak Dev University is a temple of knowledge & wisdom and the youth festivals being conducted in this auditorium preserve our rich cultural heritage. We should not bother about defeat but learn from it. He also congratulated Dr. Jagjit Kaur, Director Youth Welfare for successfully organizing this youth festival. The Guests gave away trophies to the winners and Dr. Jagjit Kaur honoured the Chief Guest & the Guest of Honor with mementos.
