Amritsar, Oct. 2 (Punjab Post Bureau) – A three-day workshop on Entrepreneurship Development today concluded at Khalsa College of Engineering and Technology (KCET). The program was organized by the College in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India.
The seminar was inaugurated by KCET Director Dr. Manju Bala whereas Jaspal Kaur from Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, Rasjeet Singh Khera, Retired Chief Manager of a Public Sector Bank, RS Chatha, Lead Development Manager, Sukhwinder Gill, Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Mandeep Singh, Human Resource Manager from Walmart Bharti were resource persons.
Experts asked the students to adopt practical way of life and change their mindset as per emerging requirements of the job markets and gave their practical tips on entrepreneurship.
Dr. Manju Bala welcomed the experts and said that there is a strategic paradigm shift in India’s workforce orientation from job seekers to job providers and such workshops endeavor to bring about awareness among youth in professional colleges. Various modules of the workshop included finance management, advertising arenas, awareness of various schemes of the Government granted loan facilities, market studies etc.
Dr. Mohinder Sangita, Dean Academics, exhorted the students of the fast changing time demand, their need to explore new avenues of knowledge creation and entrepreneurship development rather than sticking to the conventional modes of professional employment.
There were also field visits of the students to various industries of Amritsar at focal point. Dr. Harkaran Singh, Registrar of the college, Er. Gurcharan Singh Deputy Dean Student Welfare, Er. Prabhdeep Singh, Workshop Coordinator, Er. RS Mahal, Head Mechanical Engineering, Er. Kiran Deep Singh Head Computer Science & Engineering, Er. Sahil Verma Head Civil Engineering, and Er. Jaspreet Singh, Head Electronics & Communication Engineering were also present on the occasion.
