Amritsar, Oct. 7 (Punjab Post Bureau) – DAV Public School Lawrence Road organised a lecture on ‘Liberal Education and Career Guidance’ for the students of senior sector in the school auditorium. As many as 300 students attended the lecture. The main objective of the programme was to create awareness among the students regarding opportunities and challenges in deciding their career options. The eminent speakers of the day were Prof. S.Aravind, Asst. Professor in Department of Management at AIMS Institutes, Bengalure , Ms. Anjali Balachandran , Manager Business Development with Manav Rachna Educational Institutions, Ms. Neerja Singh, Sr. Counsellor with Manav Rachna Educational Institutions, Prof. Amreesh Mishra , Associate Dean at Ansal University and Mr. Abhinav Herwal , Area Manager from SRM University.
They addressed the students and guided them that at this age , students go off the track if they do not get right guidance at the right time . They advised them to understand themselves first in terms of their interests and abilities and what do they expect from their education and career. They emphasised that the children must know their capabilities , strength and weaknesses while opting for any profession. They also gave orientation to the students regarding various possible career options.
The students and the faculty members were highly inspired by their presentation. The whole session was quite effective and enriching. The facilitators provided room to the participants to vent out their views and also took their queries.
Regional Officer Punjab Zone–A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar lauded the efforts of the school for organising such lectures which are very essential to infuse confidence among the students and they can plan their career effectively.
Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school thanked the guests and said that such seminars provide essential information to the students and optimize their thinking.
