DAV College organized lecture cum workshop on ‘World AIDS Day’

Amritsar, Dec.1 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Department of Zoology DAV College celebrated “World AIDS Day” today.  A lecture cum workshop was arranged on the topic of Health and Happiness. Mr Saurabh Kapoor, National Faculty, Art of Living Foundation was the key speaker during the event. Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar gave floral welcome to the guest Mr Saurabh Kapoor and his assistant Ms Deepika Malhotra during the occasion.
    In the Inaugural session, Dr.Rajni Khanna, Administrator and Head Department of Zoology gave brief introduction about Mr Saurabh Kapoor, and said that he is famous corporate speaker and motivator who have carried more than 500 hours of lectures in various colleges, institutes and corporate sector and Dr. Neeraj Gupta gave a brief account of World Aids day.
    Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar appreciated the efforts of the faculty members for organizing such events. While speaking he emphasized the importance of happiness to all and especially to HIV +persons.
    Mr Saurabh Kapoor involved the audience by small exercises and a 20 min meditation programme after which everybody felt rejuvenated. He also made students aware about that how HIV spreads and causes Immuno-Deficiency Syndrome leading a person into the shells of AIDS. He also talked about the causes and symptoms of AIDS along with the preventive measures.
    Dr. Renu Chauhan presented vote of thanks during the event. Vice Principal Dr. Darshandeep, Dr. G.S Sidhu, Registrar, Dr. Daizy Sharma, Controller, Mrs Amita Sharma, Bursar, Dr. Rupinder Kaur, Electricity Incharge, Dr. Sekhon, Dr BB Yadav, Prof R.K Jha, Prof Nihita, Srishti Khanna and other faculty members were also present during the event.
