Amritsar, Sept 9 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The students of DAV Public School Lawrence Road
Celebrated Teachers Day with great zeal and fervor. They paid tribute to the great philosopher and educator Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan whose wish was to celebrate his birthday as Teachers’ Day. The students read out his vision about the role of teachers in nation building. A special colourful cultural programme with exciting games and enthralling dance performances was dedicated to the teachers. The main attraction of the programme was Antakshari played by teachers. Through self composed poems and thanks giving speeches, the students showed their gratitude to the teachers for transforming their lives.
On this occasion the school honoured 42 teaching, non–teaching and ancillary staff who had completed 20 years and 30 years of service. They were presented a token of gratitude and a green plant symbolising growth and prosperity. The teachers were overwhelmed by the vibrant show and energetic efforts of the students to make them feel great.
Regional Officer Punjab Zone – A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of school Dr. Rajesh Kumar Principal DAV College Amritsar congratulated the teachers and said that teachers are the source of inspiration for all.
Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school said that a teacher affects eternity. She expressed her gratitutde for the teachers and other members of the school who had completed 20 to 30 years of dedicated and devoted service to school. She added that school was indebted to them. She called them pillars of students’ success and wished health and prosperity for all.
