Rajasthan Tourism Road Show during India Travel Exhibition

Amritsar, September 15 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Rajasthan Tourism organized a Road Show during the three days India Travel Mart exhibition here in Amritsar.

         In a press relaease ICM PR Madam Amanpreet Kaur said that geographically a largest State of the country Rajasthan is also the richest repository of living traditions and art forms. It’s is treasure trove of handcrafted souvenirs, gems and jewellery and after the wedding of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, Rajasthan is most sought after place for destination weddings globally.

                 Rajasthan is well connected with Punjab via road, rail & flight. Main places of tourist interest are Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaislamer, Ranthambore, Bharatpur and more.Places of religious interest are Dargha Sharif- Ajmer, Shri NathJi Temple, Nathdwara, Shri EklingJi Temple- Udaipur, Brahma Temple at Holy Pushkar, Jain Temples at Ranakpur and many more important places of worship, she said.

              Rajasthan has constantly endeavored to innovate and add innovative products to its repertoire- Palace on Wheels introduced in seventies is still reckoned as one of the best luxury train rides of the world.

             Mrs. Kanika from Rajasthan Tourism says that Rajasthan was pioneer in introducing concepts of heritage hotels and havelis, Camel Safaris, Horse Safaris, Jeep Safaris and Camping sites. Rural Tourism and religious or pilgrim tourism sites are also very popular among the visitors. These activities have now become USPs’ (Unique Selling Products) for the state. More than 70 % of heritage hotels of the country are located in Rajasthan. Recently, UNESCO has recognized “The Walled City of Jaipur” as heritage site.

                Rajasthan received about 52 million tourists in calendar year 2018. This includes 1.75 million foreign tourists. Tourism Trade and services in Rajasthan comprises approximately 14% of State GDP.

                  Tourism Trade a smokeless industry has huge potential for employment creation especially in rural areas. Per capita investment in tourism & hospitality sector creates more jobs as compared to other sectors of economy, said Mrs. Kanika kapoor.
