Kargil to Kohima Ultra-Marathon- “Glory Run” Flagged off by Group Captain Ashok Kumar

Amritsar, Oct. 5 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Kargil to Kohima Ultra-Marathon “Glory Run” team of Indian Air Force  was PUNJ0510201915flagged off by Group Captain Ashok Kumar, Station Commander, Air Force Station Amritsar Cantt in a ceremony filled with josh and nationalistic fervor. The team consisting of Twenty Five Airwarriors arrived at Air Force Station Amritsar Cantt in the evening of 03 Oct 19. Runners set course for their further journey to Bhatinda.

            The Marathon reached Amritsar on 03 Oct 19 in the evening and were welcomed by personnel of Air Force on their main gate. 

            A large gathering of Air Warriors and their families including school children were present to bid farewell to the team early in the morning.  The Children, Ladies, IAF Officers and Airmen also ran along with the team upto By-pass road through Ranjit Avenue as mark of encouragement to long distance Runners.

            The Air warriors of Air Force Station Amritsar Cantt also ran a Mini Marathon to mark the 87th Anniversary of Indian Air Force which falls on 08 October 2019.

The flag off ceremony started with “Bharat Mata ki Jai” rants by all the participants and one and all present on the occasion.
