Health Minister marks inquiry to probe role of Medical Officer in Jagmail Singh’ death case

Chandigarh, Nov 19 (Punjab Post Bureau)  – Taking strong notice of the alleged allegations on the Medical Officer for dereliction of duty in providing timely treatment to Jagmail Singh who subsequently died at PGIMER Chandigarh, Balbir Singh Sidhu Health Minister has instructed Anurag Aggarwal, Principal Secretary Health to probe the matter and submit comprehensive report in three days.

            Disclosing this official spokesperson of the Health Department said that as per media reports Jagmail Singh was initially taken to the government hospital and the Medical Officer on duty did not discharge his duty properly and did not file the MLR. Media reports had casted serious allegation on the part of Medical Officer on duty which become one of the reasons for the death of Jagmail Singh.

            Balbir Singh Sidhu has taken strong notice of this case and asked the Principal Secretary Health to inquire the role of Medical Officer on duty and submit report to him in three days.
