Amrtisar, Dec 12 (Punjab Post Bureau) – To eradicate drug menace from the society an orientation programme was
organised by Punjab Govt. at DAV Public School Lawrence Road Amritsar A team comprising of District Co – ordinater, Mr. Jasbir Sigh Gill, Master Trainer Buddy Group – Mr. Manjit Singh and Mr. Sukhpal Singh, Mrs. Bharti Sharma – Counsellor and Inspecter Paramjit Singh – Incharge Zila Saanj Kendra visited the school.
The main objective of the programme was to train the senior buddies to sensitize the students about the drug abuse. Speaking on the occasion trainers appealed to the teachers to be vigilant and help students to save them from all sorts of malpractices . They added that friendly approach from teachers will encourage the children to inform them about their even minor to minute activities. The whole session was very effective and enriching.
Regional Officer Punjab Zone – A Dr. Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar appreciated the efforts of the school for conducting such programmes. They said that good plan today is better than the perfect plan tomorrow. Keeping this spirit the school is striving to maximise learning through teachers direct impact on students , thus contributing to society , state and country.
Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school thanked the organisers and asserted that the school has successfully implemented this programme in words and spirits and she is quite hopeful that it will instil positive life skills in children. She assured that the school will carry on this endeavour in future as well.
