District Administration goes hard on Quarantine Jumpers

 FIRs registered against 4, Warning given to 26

S.A.S. Nagar, July 10 (Punjab Post Bureau)  – ”The District Administration is proceeding very hard against the people who are jumping the quarantine and putting the lives of other people at risk given the present situation in respect of the corona virus pandemic.”

            This was stated by the Deputy Commissioner Mr. Girish Dayalan here today. Giving the details, the Deputy Commissioner said that from the period ranging from 22nd June, 2020 till 7th July, 2020, the District Administration with the assistance of the Police authorities, has registered 4 FIRs under sections 188 dealing with the disobeying the order issued by a public servant lawfully empowered to do so, Section 269, 270 and 271 (Malignant Act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) against those jumping quarantine while strict warning has been issued to the 26 people.

            Explaining the mechanism further, the DC said that the people undergoing quarantine have to download cova app mandatorily and they are tracked further by cova admin portal. If a person jumps quarantine for the first time, then he/she is issued a warning but on repeating the same offence, an FIR is registered.

            The DC exhorted the people to follow all the safety protocols especially those undergoing the quarantine period. He said that the District Administration is fully committed to effectively combat the corona virus pandemic but it needs the wholehearted support of the people to see its efforts succeeding.
