DC orders to intensify the awareness campaign against drug usages

People in 16 identified hot spots to be registered to nearby OAT clinics

Kapurthala, November 18 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala Deepti Uppal has asked the District Mission team under the Punjab Narcotics Prevention Campaign Committee to intensify the awareness campaign against the usage of drugs as the Punjab Government has provided many relaxations in lockdown.

                 Today while chairing the meeting of District Mission team, the Deputy commissioner has asked the Police and Health department officials to jointly start the campaign to register the persons with OAT clinics who falls under the 16 indentified drugs hot spots .

               She also asked the officials to initiate the training sessions at OAT clinics at Kala Sanghaian and Navjeevan Kendra Kapurthala to further push the rehabilitation works.

              She also asked the District employment officer to ensure the participation of youth in the Mega Job fairs who successfully wins the war against drugs. It may be mentioned here that 22 rehabilitated youth were selected for various jobs in Job fairs in Kapurthala.

                 She also said that the wall paintings in each 21 schools of all 4 sub divisions would be made to aware the school children’s about the ill effects of drugs as the Punjab Government has already allocated the funds for the same.

                Prominent amongst present on the occasion included SDMs Varinderpal singh bajwa, Dr Charumita, T. Benith, Drug De addiction Incharge Dr. Sandeep Bhola etc .
