
Amritsar, Nov. 13 (Punjab Post Bureau)- A one day workshop on ‘The Gandhi Experiment’ for promoting peace and brotherhood in schools was organised at DAV Public School , Lawrence Road. Ms Margaret Hepworth , a Peace Educator and Masters in Educational Studies from Monash University, Australia was the resource person. A well travelled person and with an experience of 25 years advocating global citizenship, conflict resolution and sensitising people about universal brotherhood and peace , she addressed many sensitive issues during the workshop . She published her first novel , ‘Clarity of Time’ in 2012. She talked about value building in classrooms. She was happy to know that the school was already nurturing values and ethics . She conducted an interactive session with various activities, role play, and hands – on discussion involving the staff to highlight the topics. It was a highly fruitful and stimulating experience for all participants. Regional Director Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra Principal BBK DAV, College for Women, appreciated the resource person’s dedication and hoped that it would help the faculty gain a lot of good insights. School Manager , Dr. K. N. Kaul, Principal DAV College, Hathi Gate , also applauded this effort and encouraged the staff to attend such workshops and improve their teaching through them. Principal Dr. Neera Sharma praised the resource person’s innovative and pro – active approach and was upbeat about the benefits the staff would gain from this workshop.
