SGHPS observes Bandi Chhor Divas and Diwali

Amritsar, November 4 (Punjab Post Bureau) – To commemorate the historical release of the sixth Guru Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji Bandi Chhor Divas and Diwali was observed by SGHPS G.T. Road in the school auditorium. Principal/ Director Dr. Dharam Veer Singh gave a warm welcome to the dignitaries Hony. Secy. Swinder Singh Kathunangal and Member Incharge Prof. Hari Singh. Swinder Singh Kathunangal expressed deep concern for the environment. A plethora of activities were organized. There was a beautiful and fascinating display of greeting cards, decorated candles, earthen lamps and thalis at the entrance of the auditorium. Colourful wall hangings prepared by the students of grade X were also one of brilliant attractions. Irvin Kaur and Kusumpreet Kaur of class X delivered speech on the significance and relevance of eco-friendly Diwali. Simroj Kaur of class IX enthralled the audience with her articulate and memory skills while reciting poem on Bandi Chhor Divas. The programme culminated with a rally to spread the message ‘Say No to Crackers’.  Principal / Director Dr. Dharam veer Singh motivated the students not to play with fireworks and celebrate green Diwali.

                     The programme was attended by Hardyal Singh, Sukhjinder Singh Prince, Headmistress Mrs. Kawalpreet Kaur, Mrs. Nischint Kahlon, Mrs. Kiranjot Kaur, Manvinder Kaur Bhullar, teachers and students. Nirmal Singh President CKD and all the office bearers wished the staff and students a very Happy Diwali.
