Seven Day GNDU NSS UNIT-II Special Camp concluded

Amritsar, January 11 (Punjab Post Bureau) – ‘Seven Day NSS Unit-II Special Camp’ was concluded in the Guru Nanak Dev University. Prof. Anish Kumar Dua, Dean Students’ Welfare and Prof. H.S. Gujral, NSS Coordinator of the University both Guest of Honours presided over the valedictory function.

            Delivering his Valedictory Address, Prof. Anish Kumar Dua congratulated the volunteers for their high spirits and the wonderful work done by them during seven days special camp despite of harsh weather conditions and recent spurt in COVID 19 situation. He added that one must work selflessly for the nation and the continuous progress of the nation which depends upon the selfless work of the people, especially, the youth of the country. Exhorting the volunteers, he said that there are two types of people: first, those who work and second and those who only complain. He emphasized that, ‘You only serve when you don’t seek anything in return.  At the end of his address, he recognized the noble work of the people like Mother Teresa for the country.

            Prof. H.S Gujral in his message congratulated the entire NSS team led by the Programme Officer, Prof. Rajesh Kumar for successful completion of this seven days NSS special camp. He added that the diverse activities accomplished by the volunteers during the seven-days camp in extreme cold weather and incessant rain condition has set one of the finest examples of selfless and dedicated service towards society. He appreciated the multifarious task like COVID-19 Appropriate Behaviour Awareness Campaign besides assisting the local health officials and ‘Anganwari’ workers in motivating people for getting them vaccinated at village dispensaries at Ranike (Attari) and Kathania (Ajnala) with great enthusiasm and energy. He concluded by saying that NSS activities must continue with same energy and vigour round the year. NSS volunteers shared their experiences and learnings with the guests. In the end, four best volunteers were awarded with mementos by the guests. Prof. Rajesh Kumar thanked the guests and volunteers for their presence and successful completion of the camp.
