SGPC takes strict notice of demolition of Langar hall on Delhi-Moradabad highway

Amritsar, June 7 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Taking strict notice of demolition of Langar Hall and houses of some people in Gagan Manoharpur village in Uttar Pradesh on Delhi-Moradabad highway, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate  Harjinder Singh has marked an investigation into this matter through in-charge of Sikh Mission Hapur. SGPC assistant secretary media Kulwinder Singh said that they came to know about this incident through social media and newspapers.

               “On the directions of SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh, an investigation has been marked into this incident and in-charge of Sikh Mission, Hapur Brijpal Singh has been deputed for the same, who will investigate and report the entire matter to the office”, said. Kulwinder Singh. He added that further action will be taken on the basis of the report submitted by Brijpal Singh.

              Kulwinder Singh said as per the preliminary information received it came to light that a number of Sikhs live there (Gagan Manoharpur) for a long time and they possess the relevant documents of concerned land given to them.

               “Besides demolishing the houses of poor people, the administration also demolished Langar (community kitchen) hall made for serving humanity, from where a large number of people used to have food”, said Kulwinder Singh.

                 He demanded from the administration to resolve this issue immediately and that the Sikhs living there should not be harassed.
