250 Students awarded Degrees at Khalsa College Mohali

This is an Era of Professional Education and Youth Must Think Futuristic- Gunbir Singh

Mohali, February 6 (Punjab Post Bureau) – At least 250 students were today awarded degrees at Khalsa College (Amritsar) of Technology and Business Management (KCATBS), here today during First annual Convocation of the institution. Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) Joint Secretary, Finance Gunbir Singh who was the chief guest at the occasion stressed on impetus to the professional education while coaxing the youth to think futuristic as the world is changing too fast.

“This is an era of professional education and the studies and syllabus must be in coherence with the industrial requirement and prevailing job market. The world is heading for a revolution in every sector as new industries will require newer human resource”, said Gunbir Singh adding that youth must prepare itself for innovation, entrepreneurship in the today’s world of metaverse and quantum technology.

Delivering his motivating convocational address Gunbir Singh said that good quality teachers cannot be made overnight and are nurtured only by synchronizing a number of factors including new ideas, latest skills, professionalism and above all passions with spiritualism. He cited the journey of glorious history of Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) since 1892, which is running now 19 educational institutions and envisaging mega future projects including Khalsa Medical College too.

He quoted US author and futuristic thinker Alvin Toffler to emphasized that today the change is too fast and growing demands due to rapid socio- political and economic changes in the knowledge society, students need to keep pace with the constant advancement of information and communication technology throughout the world.

While congratulating graduate and post-graduated who were bestowed with degrees, he said we need to provide quality education that meet international benchmarks so that our youth do not choose to go abroad.

Earlier Principal Dr. Harish Kumari read the College progress report and achievements of the faculty and students in various fields including academics, sports and cultural activities.

Present on the occasion incudes KCGC Members Swaran Singh, J.S Gill, retired DFO Tejinder Singh, Dean Balvir Kaur, Under Secretary D.S Rataul and senior faculty members.
