
Amritsar, Dec. 20 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The District Legal Services Authority, Amritsar under the able guidance of Hon’ble Mr. Justice S.S. Saron Judge Punjab & Haryana High Court, Chandigarh and Executive Chairman, Punjab Legal Services Authority, Chandigarh and under the supervision of Sh. Gurbir Singh Hon’ble District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Amritsar organized awareness and sensitization programme on mediation at Alternative Disputes Resolution Centre, District Court complex, Amritsar. This programme was organized for law students, litigants, advocates and judges in order to sensitize them regarding mediation process and benefits thereof. The awareness programme was inaugurated by Learned District & Sessions Judge, Amritsar.
In the awareness programme Dr. Sudhir Jain District & Sessions Judge, Incharge Mediation Centre, New Delhi explained about the process of mediation and benefits thereof. The trained mediators who have now been trained as trainers namely Sh.M.L. Malhotra, retired District & Sessions Judge, Smt. Manjit Kaur, Advocate, Sh. N.K. Saini Advocate made the audience aware about process and benefits of mediation and asked the law students and the advocates to put their maximum participation in the process so that dispute between the parties are settled finally. Sh. Gurbir Singh Learned District & Session Judge, Amritsar said that any person who wants his case referred for mediation, can make a request to concerned court for such reference and try to settle his case through mediation.
