World Tourism day celebrated by department

Amritsar, September 27 (Punjab Post Bureau) – On the occasion of World Tourism Day on 27 September 2023, the celebration was organised in the Jallianwala Bagh Amritsar by the Ministry of Tourism Govt. of India in collaboration with Punjab Tourism in which the Yuva Tourism club students of schools, colleges, Ncc cadets participated and took the Travel for Life pledge and swacchta pledge.

The celebration took place with a total of 70 participants from PBN school along with DAV College Amritsar. Industry expert Mr. Gurinder Singh Johal Managing Director Discover Punjab tours and travels addressed the students about the importance of Tourism and culture and Swachhta Pakhwara. Also, Mr. Piyush Kapoor, General Secretary AHARA was also present and informed about the opportunities and potential of India as a Sustainable tourism destination.

Selfie booth created was the eye catcher where not only students but also tourists took selfies and developed awareness about travel for life mission.
