Amritsar, July 2 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Bringing immense pride to the state and the nation, Tiya, a +2 Medical
student of the School of Eminence (SOE) Mall Road Amritsar, has been selected as a National Finalist for the prestigious International Mission ShakthiSAT project.
The International ShakthiSAT mission mentored by Wing Commander Jaya Tare (Retd.), led by Space Kidz India in collaboration with ISRO, aims to empower young girls globally in the field of space science and satellite technology. Tiya will represent not only India but also the state of Punjab in this globally recognized initiative.
The project has been mentored and guided by Mr. Kamal Kumar, Lecturer in Chemistry at SOE Mall Road under the visionary leadership of the school Principal Mrs. Mandeep Kaur.
As part of the mission, selected participants from 108 Nations one student from each country will come together in August 2026 in New Delhi for an intensive training workshop. During this program, students will actively participate in the design, integration, and assembly of the ShakthiSAT satellite. The satellite is scheduled to be launched into lunar orbit on October 11, marking a significant milestone in student-led space innovation.
SOE Mall Road has already established a strong foundation in space-related projects. Under the mentorship of Mr. Kamal Kumar, students of the school successfully prepared chips for two satellites in 2022 and 2023. The students have also had the opportunity to visit ISRO twice, gaining valuable exposure to India’s premier space research organization.
This remarkable achievement once again highlights the commitment of SOE Mall road towards nurturing scientific temperament and empowering young girls to excel in cutting-edge fields like space technology. On the occasion, Principal Mandeep Kaur & School Staff gave their best wishes to Tia while felicitating her.
