Orders are issued as per instructions given by honorable courts

Chandigarh, Mar. 13 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Punjab Government has issued instructions to the local bodies for the allotment of work to the city contractor that work will be allotted only if there are provisions in the budget. This information is given today by Mr. Anil Joshi during a press release today.
Mr. Joshi said that this decision has been made by taking into consideration the instructions of the honorable courts. He said that this decision will help the department for resolving all the issues regarding delays in the payments of contractor. He said that after the instructions from honorable courts a committee was created under supervision of technical advisor Major General Bhatt. As per committee recommendations all the local bodies are instructed to take care of these instructions before starting any new project.
Local body minister said that these new projects will be started in the areas where the provisions in the budget and funds are available. He also said that the allocation of funds should be done after keeping aside the expenses of annual pension, maintainence, street lights etc.No new tender will be floated if funds are not available and joint commissioner will issue a certificate for this.
Local body Minister said that for the Municipal Corporations the nodal officers will be commissioner and for Municipal Council & Panchayat, Improvement trust nodal officers will be regional deputy director.
