A musical evening at Art gallery in memory of Sahir Ludhianavi

Amritsar, Mar. 23 (Punjab Post Bureau) – A musical evening, dedicated to the legendry poet Sahir Ludhianavi was organized at local Indian Academy of Fine Art (IAFA) also known as Art Gallery. Various artists who gathered at the occasion paid rich tributes to the poet whose lyrics have entertained the masses for decades, followed by recitation of his popular numbers during the program `sun ja dil ki dastan’.

IAFA President Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina who was the chief guest at the occasion said the program was dedicated to Sahir’s birth anniversary and was 12^th in the series. He said Sahir’s poetry has mesmerized one and all for the last many years and his songs had been on the lips of young and old, men or women. The popular songs were recited by singers Tejinder Ada, Hargun, Miss Pragya, Miss Kajal, Shamsher Bahadur Singh, Surinder Chopra, Rupali. Latika and Saloni presented a dance item on song Tera Phullon Jaisa Rang.

Chhina along with IAFA general secretary dr.PS Grover, Chairman Narinderjit Singh, member Harminder Singh Freedom also presented `Artist of the Year’ award to Tejinder Ada, Rekha Mahajan and Rupali Chhabra.
