DAV Public School Std. V observes Sports Meet held

Amritsar, Apr. 15 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The students of Std V of DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, observed their Sports Day today in the school premises. The event began with the hoisting of the school flag by the Chief
Guest, Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal DAV Public School. This was followed by March Past by students and release of colourful balloons as a symbol of peace and happiness. The Chief Guest then addressed all present and highlighted the importance of sports and games in a student’s life, she encouraged them to participate actively in sports, to grow up as healthy individuals in body, mind and spirit.

        The event was marked with various cultural activities such as Saraswati Vandana and Inspirational Song, to welcome everyone, after which the Chief Guest declared the Sports Meet as open. Various races such as the 500 mtrs race (boys and girls), Sack Race, Three-legged Race were held. A beautiful presentation of Yoga was also done by Std V students. At the end of the Sports Meet, prizes were given away to winners in various sports categories. The children were encouraged by everyone present with thundering applause and cheering. The event was concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.

Regional Director, Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra, Principal BBK DAV College for Women was very pleased with the enthusiasm of the young children. She applauded the indomitable spirit of these children, and wished them success and happiness in life. School Manager, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Principal DAV College for Boys appreciated the initiative taken by the school to encourage sports activities among children and gave his blessings to the children. Principal of the school Dr. Neera Sharma was very happy and satisfied with the hard work put in by the teachers and the children and hoped to have more such events in the future.
